Welcome to my first Patreon Update post! This is where I will be reporting monthly updates in regards to my Patreon campaign, covering estimated earnings, changes to pledges, and more. Previously I would do this on YouTube, but the reception overall wasn't very positive — hence my delay in reporting earnings for July. I'm hoping this new approach will have a different effect, however.
July 2014 Earnings
This was my best month yet, primarily because of my annual Seaside Heights series. The ability to watch all 2+ hours of footage ahead of public release turned out to be a nice incentive in becoming a patron. A transparent report of my earnings are as follows:
- Pledged: $1,211
- Deductions: $69.45 credit card fees, $60.55 Patreon fee
- Paid: $1,081
August 2014 Earnings
August saw a slight decline in earnings, but that's primarily because I am paying closer attention to whose pledges are actually being processed. In other words, I had to remove a good amount of patrons due to their payments not going through. This is unfortunate, but it's something I need to do every month if I am going to remain transparent and accurate.
Speaking of being transparent, the following are August's earnings:
- Pledged: $1,055
- Deduction: $62.38 credit card fees, $52.75 Patreon fee
- Paid: $939.87
$25+ Pledge Promotions
Every month I promote websites and/or services ran by those who are kind enough to pledge within the $25+ tier. Please take a moment to review anything below that you may find interesting:
Patrons are currently able to watch videos ahead of public release via the password-protected Patrons Exclusive Access page. This has been working great, but I am looking to tighten things up a bit.
Starting in October, early video access will exclusively reside on my Patreon campaign page. A password will no longer be required to view content, just as long as you're logged into your Patreon account. I feel this is the right route to take, especially if it means patrons will be able to access their rewards more easily.
As always, I want to thank you all for your tremendous support. Running a Patreon campaign has certainly been an interesting experience thus far, and it's just going to get even better as time progresses — especially with my annual holiday videos on the way. You truly are making a difference. Please, never forget that.
